Hmong shaman use this altarr to call the spirit during the first day of Hmong New Year or if somebody in the family is getting sick.
On the first day of Hmong New Year, the old Hmong shaman will call the spirit to protect the Hmong families and after that the second day, the head of each family will go to mourn at the tomb of their ancestors.
