Filmmaking Classes

 

Every summer we hold a free 5 week intensive filmmaking class, including male and female students and novices, representing several ethninic groups. Classes are now taught in Lao by Lao. Additional trainings with foreign and Lao filmmakers are held throughout the year.

Four films are made each summer, with additional films made throughout the year. Our student groups have won short film competitions in Laos and in the UK, our teachers have won in Laos and the US.

We also make short, Lao science and math videos for transfer from phone to phone so they can take on a life of their own and spread. Hands on activities in science are not common in the Lao rote education system but these experiments can be easily done in the classroom with materials readily available in the countryside.
